It is a fact that when most of us go to sleep, we wear pajamas. Every evening, we go to sleep, many of us not realizing what a privilege it is to even wear the pajamas that our parents buy for us. In the present day, countless people live without much money. Though it may seem absurd, there are children who live their daily life without the comfort of pajamas, or even a book to read.
Throughout this rather cold month of February, Anthony Wayne Middle School is participating in a program known as the “Pajama Program.” This program collects pajamas, as well as books, and donates them to the families and children that are below the poverty level. It helps in the simple education of the deprived and poor children by giving them books to read, and also helps to comfort children at nighttime. Impressively, since 2001, when this “Pajama Program” was founded, they managed to donate “more than 2 Million new pajamas and new books to children in need” throughout the country.* By depositing a simple, new pair of pajamas, or a new book, in one of the bins located in the front hallway of our school, you can contribute to this nationwide foundation’s work, and help make the less privileged kids throughout our area happier.
