Our U.S. president, Barack Obama, went to India as a special guest to commemorate the nation's independence. The Republic Day Celebration happened at January 26th, 2015. Along the way, Obama and Narendra Modi (Prime Minister of India) had a talk about Civil Nuclear program and its agreement. This agreement will allow U.S. firms to invest energy in India. Finally, this is a very significant event for both of the countries because there wasn't much of a relationship between the two nations. Hopefully, this will continue. -Supritaa M.
Imagine a world where a simple sound could cause things to happen. Imagine playing a song on a piano, or even on a drum set, and images being magically created. While many of you may think that this, making images from sound, is impossible, it has already been done and the study of this “visible sound” or “wave phenomena” is called Cymatics. While this kind of innovation may seem new, the roots of this study called Cymatics started in 1680 with scientist Robert Hooke. (You may recognize him for naming the small units of life “cells.”) Afterwards, throughout history, more people experimented with Cymatics, including Ernst Chladni and Hans Jenny. Now, people such as the German photographer, Alexander Lauterwasser, as well as music artist, Nigel John Stanford, continue to carry on the history of this interesting study of Cymatics.
