I've only known my friends since 4th grade, when I first moved Wayne. They've known each other for a much longer time. So here's my problem: sometimes I feel left out when they get into a group and start talking. A lot of times they're talking about Greek mythology books, like the Percy Jackson series, and I don't read those. Sometimes I try to include myself, but they keep on talking and ignore me. One day I tried to ignore them at lunch, but I ended up talking to all of them but one. They're my friends! What do I do? Am I just overreacting? - SimsFan03
Dear SimsFan03,
Don't worry! It. Happens. To. Everyone. The transition from elementary school to middle school is not only different with teachers but with friends, too.
If you friends start to leave you out of the conversation, try to change the subject to like, "Did you guys see _____ on TV last night." If they don't change the subject than you should tell them how you feel. True friends would make sure you feel happy all day, every day. If not, there are many more people in middle school to make friends with. In fact, it is ok to drift apart from people, because that's just a part of growing up.
Thanks for letting us help you,
